It is with sadness and gratitude that the Board of Directors announces the departure of Christopher Oldham as Executive Director of the Park-McCullough Historic Governor’s Mansion effective mid-June. Stacey New will also be exiting as board president and Kelly Clarke Harrington will be coming in as interim board president. 

When Chris Oldham was hired in late 2019, the Park-McCullough House Association Board of Directors selected him for his proven skills to increase the visibility of an organization and create a sense of community. Over the past three years, Oldham has solidified and expanded the organization’s mission to continue the Park & McCullough legacies of enriching our community through a dynamic exploration of history and the arts.

Carriage barn warming to the idea of year-round events

NORTH BENNINGTON — The Park-McCullough Historic Governor’s Mansion will install a new heating system and insulation to its historic carriage barn this spring to convert the space into a year-round facility.

Park-McCullough Mansion establishes scholarship

NORTH BENNINGTON — Park-McCullough Historic Governor's Mansion has announced the creation of the Mary Fiedner Historic Scholarship Program to assist Bennington area students who plan to attend college, focusing on history-related studies. 'Elegance': Park-McCullough House gives public exclusive look at historical clothing


NORTH BENNINGTON
 — This Saturday, clothing from the late 19th and early 20th centuries will be on display at the Park-McCullough Historic Governor's Mansion in an exclusive exhibition for the public.

The collection, which belonged to the Park-McCullough family, contains several clothing items that have never been seen by the public. Included are several wedding dresses, daytime gowns, evening and formalwear, as well as children's clothing and accessories.

"It is great to see the house alive and active. I am incredibly excited about the Elegance Exhibition because it showcases artifacts that the public has never seen," said Christopher Oldham, executive director of Park-McCullough. "There is so much to share with our community. There are over 100,000 items that once belonged to the family, and we are looking forward to organizing more exhibits from our collection." NORTH BENNINGTON — Peter Herdrich, the chief executive officer of the Cultural Capital Group, has joined the board of the Park-McCullough Historic Governor's Mansion, the organization has announced.

Herdrich is a co-founder of The Antiquities Coalition, a leading international NGO, whose mission is to stop the looting and illicit trade in cultural heritage property. With Cultural Capital, he serves as the principal investigator on the cultural preservation technology startup, the Digital Library of the Middle East, working with partners across the Middle East and North Africa. Not-for-profit clients include Red Arch Cultural Heritage Law & Policy Research, for whom he consults on the K-9 Artifact Finders project; Empire Archival Discovery Network; FamilySearch; and the Roper Center for Public Opinion…
